OS X vs Microsoft WorldWide usage
Through OEM sales model, no doubt if Windows became an operating system most widely used in computers. However, Apple’s OS slowly started to harass the Microsoft OS.
According to the latest data released by Net Applications, use OSX started beating Windows Vista in terms of access of the internet. Meanwhile, for the first time, web users Windows 7 managed to beat the version of Windows XP.
Net Applications shows that Windows Vista has decreased in August by 6.15% percentage of web usage tracked. Meanwhile, Apple’s latest operating system OS X 10.8 Lion Mountain grew 1.34%.
The most popular system Apple Mac OS X 10.7 or Lion, representing 2.29% of the computers are tracked on the web. Combined with Snow Leopard which accounts for 2.23% of the web users. So that the total share of OS X is 6.51%, higher than the 6.15% Windows Vista.
Although true OS X still less than Windows overall, but the market share of Apple’s devices are much greater when the iPad and iPhone included. Net Applications found that the iPad accounted for 3.37% of the web traffic, while the iPhone is 2.42%.
Among other mobile platforms, the percentage of internet users are the following: Google Android 2.3 accounted for 1.02%, Android 4.0 has 0.48%, Android 2.2 accounted for 0.21%, 0.18% BlackBerry and iPod take 0, of 16%.
