The jury decided Samsung has violated Apple’s patents and must pay U.S. $ 1.05 bn in compensation of damage.
The jury consisting of 9 people in federal court San Jose, California, USA, has been considering the 700 questions on each side claims that its rival had violated its intellectual property.
The jury finally granted in part the lawsuit filed by Apple. Originally from the U.S. firm filed a claim of $ 2.5 bn to the Samsung, but the jury only hears almost half of it.
Quoted from the BBC, the judges decided Samsung had infringed a patent on Apple’s design and software. However, the jury’s decision has not been authorized by the judge Lucy Koh, who led the trial.
Victory for Apple could be bad for Samsung and Android. Therefore, the judge Lucky Koh can ban sales of some Samsung products in the U.S.. The Samsung seems to be appealed.
